If you saw me on an average day, you would not see a speck of makeup on my face. I’m a busy mom and don’t have a ton of time to do my makeup, so when I do I like it to be easy. I must admit I’ve spent a LOT of time watching youtube makeup tutorials…..because I was a makeup dummy, still am some days! I wanted to share with you guys my favourite picks for my daytime makeup looks, all products I’ve tried and stuck with after numerous others didn’t make the cut and were returned, thank you Sephora 🙂
Ok so first off, I always use a good moisturizer or even a primer if I’m doing makeup I want to last all day and into the evening. My favourite foundations are these two below, which I found at Sephora. To clarify, I am NOT a person who loves spending time in the makeup section….I want to get in and out as soon as possible! I took others recommendations and the advice from the employees at Sephora to pick these. My favourite thing about both of them is you can apply them with you fingers, no need for beauty blenders or foundation brushes, YUP sign me up! I also included my favourite concealer by Benefit, if you have serious mom bags/dark circles like me…you’ll thank me for this one.
For eyes I’m pretty basic, some neutral tones on my eye lids and a good black eyeliner and I’m set. I will sometimes do a bit more of a dramatic look for a night out…..oh wait I’m a mom, that almost never happens. I love the palettes from Urban Decay, they have one for every skin tone and makeup style. I used to suck at eyeliner, always loved the look on others but could not for the life of me get it to look good, let alone have both eyes even look like they’re remotely related. The Kat Von D liner has been my saviour in that department, so much that I actually just ordered my second one….that NEVER happens. Lastly are my two fave mascaras, I’m super picky with mascara and have probably purchased and returned more than my fair share. Mascara is something you can wear every day without needing to apply anything else, so you have to love it!
Finally eyebrows, my poor little sparse eyebrows. They’ve needed some love over the years, as I found mine have thinned out, not as bushy as they once were. I love the Anastasia brow products and have tried quite a few, you can use all three of these in combination or just one. I tend to alternate the most between the powder and the pencil myself, the dip brow is pretty amazing but I generally don’t have time for that.
I also wanted to include some brushes that I use. I purchased the Sigma set a few years back when I was just starting to really use makeup and wanted a good set. They’re all great brushes and I use about 90% of all the ones that came in the set. I also purchased the single E25, it’s an amazing blending brush!! If you get just one, make it that one!!
I hope I’ve helped you guys find at least one new product that will help make your makeup routine easier! Any questions feel free to send me a message 🙂
